Some internal issues were because of politics. Politics soon began to become weak because the regional lords began to gain increasingly autonomy and the number of succesion disputes increased. Later in 500 CE many people were declaring independence and refused to pay taxes. They then had trouble collecting tax money which means less protection from invasian from the north. The external issues soon came in. The Gupta empire had taken many threats and invasions from the north causing the Gupta treasury to drain. Also the Feudal Provinces declared independece and India had seperated into independent kingdoms. India is then not unified until the Muslims in the eleventh century.
Impact
After the collapse of the Gupta Empire, many states were at war with each other. This lasted for the next 500 years. Eventually, a new empire came about when a man named Chandragupta took the throne and inherited it to his son. Samudragupta, the former ruler's son, was a warrior of his time. He wanted all of India under his rule, so he created wars and defeated twenty-one kings in his attempt to achieve this goal. Also, during what was known as the Hindu Renaissance, India made many technological advancements. It's said that the idea of zero was created during this time. We use zero for a lot of things, especially money. India also invented chess. It is said that the game was supposed to show the ruler of the time how important everyone was to his majesty.
